백인 블루스 록 기타의 명인 Duane은 Derek & The Dominos 시절, 기타의 신이라 불리우던 Eric Clapton에게도 적잖은 영향을 미쳤던 또 다른 기타의 신이었다. 이앨범은 그의 사후에 발매된 편집음반으로 그의 음악행로를 더듬어 볼수 있는, 음악적으로나 사료적으로 높은 가치를 지닌 음반이다. 블루스 록의 끈적이는 털털한 맛에 구미가 당기는 이들이라면 우선적으로 접해 보아야할 아티스트가 바로 Duane Allman이고 그에 적합한 텍스트가 바로 이 앨범이다. 당시 미공개 트랙이었던 ‘Goin’ Down Slow’ 보즈 스캑스의 보컬이 돋보이는 ‘Loan Me A Dime’ 윌슨 피켓의 ‘Hey Jude’ 그리고 ‘Layla’ ‘Games People Play’ 등 19곡 수록.
듀언은 대중잡지 롤링스톤이 뽑은 `역사상 가장 위대한 기타리스트 100인'에서 3위에 뽑히기도 했다. 이처럼 그의 슬라이드 기타 연주는 록 음악사에 하나의 신화로 추앙된다. 그는 한 시간 이상을 한 코드의 진행으로 솔로연주를 하는 능력의 소유자였으며, 반복적 패턴으로 치는 일반 록 기타주자와는 달리 반복없이 무한히 복잡하면서도 균형을 유지하는 출중한 연주실력을 과시했다. 듀언 올맨은 이 라이브의 명연주를 남긴 채 1971년 24세라는 젊은 나이에 요절했다.
